A new bridge in construction near Hasankeyf, June 2015. The oldest bridge in Hasankeyf was built in 1147, and once was known for the largest central arch at that time. It collapsed in the 17th century, the pillars can still be seen. Together with the new bridge, built in the 1970, it will be submerged. Both will be replaced by this bridge, which will hold a four-lane highway, circumventing Hasankeyf, from 2019 on.
